Installation views of Geneotropes, August 3-26 2011
Basile Gallery, Herron School of Art & Design, Indianapolis, IN
Excerpt from the Exhibition Statement:
The increasingly commonplace deployment of genetics to quantify life is shifting how we represent nature and ourselves in our cultural discourses. To date we have sequenced the genomes of over 180 species (including ourselves). This exhibition brings together three bodies of work that investigate different facets of the human-genetic relationship and its burgeoning relevance in both our cultural and personal lives.
