Painted Nature #1 (5 minutes, Single Channel Video in HD, 2010) the surface eddies of a stream are filmed in slow motion. The shifting of form and color approximate that of a twilight sky. As fall leaves float by, the reflection of a tree and distant sounds of cars can be heard as well as a passerby that momentarily disrupts the viewing portal created by the video. The stream's surface becomes a means to consider our relationship to nature and references art’s own long history of representing our attraction to it through the painted image.
